Jerzy Janowicz is on his way to clash against the Maestro in a couple of rounds.
Today Jerzy had a (small) stroke of luck as Radek Stepanek had to retire while Jerzy was 6-2 5-3 up to save some energies for the next rounds.
In the next match Janowicz will play Nicolas Almagro that is a very strong player, but definitely not a top one on the grass.
The clash with Roger?…
If he wins, then Jerzy will face the supreme King of the Centre Court (talking about Federer) in what could be his most important moment of his young career.
Roger and Jerzy have played only once this year in Rome when Roger won a tricky 6-4 7-6 (2) in the quarters… but here it maight be different.
… then the semifinal?
A huge upset at the hands of Jerzy over Roger would make the Pole as a very strong candidate to reach the semifinal in Wimbledon as on the other side of the draw there would be no top player left a the survivors are so far Kubot (world no.130), Paire (no.27) , Manarrivo (no.111) and qualifier Dustin Brown (no.189).
Time for Jerzy to make a move? Well ask it to Roger!
Here the highlights of their match in Rome
