ATP PLAYER COUNCIL. Federer, Nadal, Murray in. Djokovic out

The ATP has announced the new ATP Player Council that will go through June 2022. Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray are among the most notable names while Djokovic is out.

The Serbian champion announced a few days ago that it was impossible for him to stay in the ATP Player Council while he was the President of the new Professional Tennis Players Association.

This is the new composition:

• 1-50 Singles: Auger-Aliassime, Federer, Millman, Nadal
• 51-100: Andujar, Simon • 1-100 Dubs: Daniell, Soares
• At-Large: Anderson, A. Murray
• Alumni: Dowdeswell
• Coach: Vallverdu

The President and Vice President to be elected at the first meeting in 2021.

Roger Federer in 2020

Currently ranked no.5, Roger played his last match on the 30^th of January when he was overcome by Novak Djokovic 7-6¹ 6-4 6-3 in the semifinal of the Australian Open (draw).

This season Roger has managed to achieve an overall 5-1 record. Roger Federer’s latest run at the Australian Open was the best achievement of his season.

Rafael Nadal in 2020

At the moment ranked no.2, Nadal played his last match on the 21^st of November when he surrendered to Daniil Medvedev 3-6 7-6⁴ 6-3 in the semifinal in the Nitto ATP Finals (draw).

Presently, during this year Rafael owns a 27-7 record. The Spaniard has won 2 titles in 2020 in Acapulco and at the French Open.

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal fought against each other 40 times. Their actual head to head record is 24-16 for Nadal. The last time they fought against each other, Roger Federer won 7-6³ 1-6 6-3 6-4 in the semifinal in London (Wimbledon) in July 2019.

Andy Murray in 2020

Now ranked no.122, Murray played his last match on the 13^th of October when he capitulated to Fernando Verdasco 6-4 6-4 in the 1^st round in Cologne (draw).

Until now, during this year the Brit has a 3-4 match record.

Novak Djokovic in 2020

Currently ranked no.1, Djokovic played his last match on the 21^st of November when he was defeated by Dominic Thiem 7-5 6-7¹⁰ 7-6⁵ in the semifinal in the Nitto ATP Finals (draw).

During this season the Serbian has a 41-5 win-loss record. The Serbian has won 4 titles in 2020 at the Australian Open, in Dubai, in New York and in Rome. Djokovic was the finalist at the French Open.

Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic played each other 36 times. The head to head is 25-11 for Djokovic. Previously, the last time they played each other, Novak Djokovic won 6-3 5-7 6-4 in the final in Doha (Qatar ExxonMobil Open) in January 2017.
