Janowicz beats Melzer to clash with Kubot for a place in Wimbledon semifinal!

A great Janowicz get to the quarters to have a clear shot for the semis in Wimbledon!

It seems that Bercy last year, when he reached the final coming absolute from nowhere, wasn’t a lucky tournament, but the beginning of everything!

The match with Melzer was tricky as the Pole was struggling against a left-hander. So, after losing the 1st set Jerzy bounced back to win the 2nd and the third to then grab the match in almost 4 hours.

From Jerzy

After the match Janowicz commented “At the beginning, I had a problem with him, left-hander. Luckily, I was able to take the second set. I was still able to keep on fighting. I think I should have closed the match in the fourth set. I had the break. I got, maybe, a little bit nervous. But luckily I was able to win this match.”

Next vs. Kubot

It’s remarkable the fact that Jerzy will play from one place in the final against his fellow countryman Lukasz Kubot (world no.130). Interesting enough these two have never played each other in an official tournament.

“It’s unbelievable what is going on right now. We have two players in quarter-finals in the men’s draw. Right now, tennis is a really famous sport in our country. I hope we’ll get more fans.” said Jerzy.

The most unbeilavable thing is that this was the “Federer-Nadal” quarter.
