Djokovic beats Haas to reach the quarters in Wimbledon

A super confident Nole gets to the quarters in style.

Even if he is not a teenager anymore, Tommy Haas (35 years of age) is playing one of the best tennis of his career and he is a really tricky customer on grass. The head to head between these two was also quite telling on grass as Nole was 0-2 down against Haas.

Nole was helped by a very strong start as he was leading 3-0 in the opener in no time to wrap up the 1st set with a discomforting (for Tommy) 6-1 in just 25 minutes. Then the world no.1 kept his focus not to allow the German to fight back into the match. Finally Djokovic won the match in 2 hours and 12 minutes.

From Nole

The world no.1 is really happy with his tennis to comment “I think that I am playing really, really good tennis at this moment. Maybe even better than 2011, when I won this tournament. I am confident on the court and trying to maintain this level. I hope I will succeed.”

Next vs. Berdych

Djokovic will play a very dangerous Tomas Berdych in the quarters. The Czech has beaten Tomic 7-6(4), 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-4. Nole leads Berdych 13-2 in the head to head, but Tomas has won their only match on grass 6-3 7-6(9) 6-3 (semifinal of Wimbledon 2010).
