Sloane Stephens rallies to reach the quarters in Wimbledon

Sloane is the last standing American in Wimbledon and she will try to go for more!

After the latest incredible upset in Wimbledon (Serena defeated by Lisicki), it’s time for Sloane to defend the colours of her country,

Sloane had to fight really hard for this match as Monica Puig did oppose a huge resistance to be just a couple of games from winning the match. Finally after winning the second set Sloane cruised to get the decider 6-1. The match ended after 2 hours.

From Sloane

Talking about her chances to win Wimbledon Sloane said “You just take one match at a time, obviously. Anyone you play at this point is going to be really tough, and they’re going to give 100 percent and go out and compete. Obviously I’m going to have to do the same. If the draw is open, if the draw is not open, I have to focus on who I play next, going from there really.”

Next vs. Bartoli

Sloane will play Marion Bartoli in the quarters. Head to head is 1-0 for Bartoli.
