Stefanos Tsitsipas is getting ready for the new season in Dubai. The Greek sensation used to struggle with a problem with his leg during the last few months of the current year. However, he recovered after undergoing a Tecar Therapy in London. Stefanos will not play any tournament at the beginning of January to skip both Delray Beach and Antalya. There are some doubts about what will be his first tournament.
Is Tsitsipas going to play the ATP Cup or an ATP250 event?
There are some confusions about which warm-up tournaments (if any) Stefanos will play before the Australian Open. The world no.6 is always extremely keen on defending the colors of his country and he would be delighted to play in the ATP Cup. In theory, Stefanos should side with world no.456 Michail Pervolarakis. However, with his rank, Pervolarakis will not be part of the Australian Open and it would be strange to see him having the clearance to go to Melbourne unless he has an improbable wild-card for the first slam of the year. Therefore, it seems plausible that Stefanos will play an ATP250 in Melbourne the week before the Australian major.
As per the following tweets, while some journalists report Stefanos playing the ATP Cup, while in Greece it is believed he will play an ATP250 event.

Will Tsitsipas train with Khachanov in Melbourne?
Given the local regulations, tennis players will be allowed to practice only with one chosen partner during the 1st week of their quarantine in Melbourne. Also, in this case, it is not clear Stefanos’s future. In fact, while he said that he will train with Karen Khachanov, according to reports, the Russian ace should practice with Kyle Edmund. Tsitsipas has been practicing a lot with Karen in Dubai and therefore it would make more sense for him to train with somebody else in Australia.
Time will tell.
