The Swiss Belinda Bencic wins Wimbledon girls’ championship

The 2013 Wimbledon edition wasn’t great from Switzerland as Roger Federer did crash out in the 3nd round, but there was an interesting news as a Swiss won the Wimbledon girls’ championship.

The world no. 372, 16-years old Belinda Bencic won the final defeating Taylor Townsend in 3 sets. The match finished after 2 hours and 17 minutes.

One of the niciest thing was the big hug the two teenagers had at the net after the match… hoping to see the same also among the grown up as there are too many bad losers around.

From Belinda

Belinda, that has won also the Roland Garros few weeks ago, had a nice comment about her opponent to say “Everything is difficult when you play her. It’s really tough to play against her every time.”

Good stuff… we hope to see Belinda following the footsteps of the great Martina Hingis!
