Stefanos Tsitsipas found himself caught in a rather weird controversy a few weeks ago. The Greek sensation expressed his (nice) opinion that Greece also deserves to have a store like Harrods. Stefanos was obviously fascinated by the popular shop in London when he was rehabbing his leg.
However, and rather curiously, that sparked some criticism as some people accused Stefanos of being detached from reality. Some others seemed to be unimpressed by the fact that Tsitsipas was having a great life while other people in Greece were struggling.
Obviously, Stefanos’ statement was completely innocent and he just wanted to express the fact that his compatriots deserve the best.
Stefanos’ Tsitsipas father Apostolos
Stefanos’ father Apostolos also had to intervene, confirming that his son was just hoping the best for his country and its citizens.
During a recent interview, Stefanos was asked to express his opinion about the controversy. He commented:
“As my father said , I like the quality very much and I think that it is worthwhile in our country to have something of quality and something good that many people can enjoy. I laughed when they saw it from this point of view, it seemed funny to me, “I did not mean it that way at all. I believe that Greece deserves the best. “
Stefanos is currently in Dubai where he is getting ready for the Australian swing. He won’t participate in any event before going to Melbourne.
