What a good week for Carlos.
The unseeded Argentine won his first career title at 30 years of age. Berlocq came absolutely from nowhere in a draw that was clearly dominated by Berdich, Almagro, Monaco and Dimitrov.
The beginning of the competition was already rather good for Carlos that has defeated Zeballos (Rafa’s matador in Vina del Mar) in the opener in straight sets to get to the final without major problems.
The final wasn’t as difficult as well as Berlocq had an easy life in the second set against imploding Verdasco to finally win the match 7-5 6-1 in 97 minutes.
