The off season is a great period to get married and Kei Nishikori didn’t miss that chance. The Japanese sensation tied the know with his longtime girlfriend Mai Yamauchi commonly known as ‘Ako Mizuki’.
Mai is an ex-model and she has been dating Kei for 5 years. Kei and Mai got married in a very private ceremony in Tokio with family and close friends. It was Nishikori to break the news with the following statement:
“I would like to report that I have married Mai Yamauchi, who I have been dating for a long time, on December 11th. I would like to get a new companion and prepare well for the coming season, which is expected to start again. The difficult situation continues in the midst of the corona. We look forward to your continued support in the future.”

Nishikori’s injury and the Olympics
Kei is currently recovering from a shoulder injury after struggling for long with all sorts of physical problems. Nishikori will try to get in his best shape on the occasion of the Olympics that will be played in Tokyo next year.

Now ranked no.41, Kei played his last match on the 30th of September when he lost to Stefano Travaglia 6-4 2-6 7-67 4-6 6-2 in the 2nd round of the French Open (draw).
