Jannik Sinner had a rather good 2020 despite the obvious issues caused by the Coronavirus pandemic. The Italian ended the season in the top40 (no.37), but he would have been ranked 20 with the adoption of the “normal” ranking system.

Which tournaments is Jannik Sinner going to play?

During a recent interview with Super Tennis, Jannik’s coach Riccardo Piatti revealed Jannik’s schedules for 2021. The Italian sensation will play his first tournament in Antalya (6th of January) before heading to Melbourne.

During the quarantine in Australia, Jannik will have the luxury of training for an entire week with Rafael Nadal. In the second week, he will be joined by Stan Wawrinka and Diego Schwartzman. According to Riccardo, training and playing with players of this caliber will be essential for Jannik to acquire the write experience to play at the very top.

After the quarantine, Jannik will play in one of the 2 tournaments that will precede the Australian Open (1st of February) before competing in the major (8th of February) where he will be one of the most dangerous floaters.

After the long Australian swing, depending on how Jannik performs in Melbourne, he might give it a shot at Montpellier (22nd of February) or in Rotterdam (1st of March). Everything needs to be confirmed.

Jannik Sinner in 2020

Now ranked no.37 (career-high), the Italian played his last match on the 14th of November when he defeated Vasek Pospisil 6-4 3-6 7-63 in the final in Sofia to win his 1st career title.

Currently, during this season Sinner has achieved a composed 20-14 win-loss record. This year, The Italian lifted the trophy in Sofia.

Rafael Nadal in 2020

Now the world no.2, Rafael played his last match on the 21st of November when he was overcome by Daniil Medvedev 3-6 7-64 6-3 in the semifinal in the Nitto ATP Finals (draw).

Presently, during this year Nadal achieved a compiled 27-7 match record. Nadal conquered 2 titles in 2020 in Acapulco and at the French Open.
