Dayana reveals that she got infect by the Covid-19 once in Dubai. The experience was rather horrible.

The Coronavirus has deeply affected the world and our beloved sport for the entire 2020. Dayana Yastremska was among the latest tennis players that got infected by the Covid-19. Dayana broke the news on social media, stating that she was tested positive once she landed in Dubai for the pre-season. Eventually, the Ukrainian ace managed to recover, but she also admitted that the entire experience was pretty bad.

“Hey everyone. Two days after arriving in Dubai, my COVID-19 test came back positive. I went into self-isolation and didn’t train for 2 weeks. The symptoms were very strange, it was bad! I fully recovered now and my focus is to go back training! Guys, please be careful!”

It is not clear if she will compete in the upcoming (and rumored) WTA500 event that will be staged in Abu Dhabi at the beginning of January. However, she must be happy that the Australian Open was delayed by 3 weeks, giving her more time to get ready for the first slam of the year.

Dayana had a tough 2020. The Ukrainian sensation failed to break in the top20 and eventually she won just 1 tournament in Adelaide. Later on, she fired her new coach Sascha Bajin as she wasn’t happy with the working relationship. She ended the year ranked no.29 and with 4 consecutive losses. Give her potential, she expected to bounce back in glory next year.
