We didn’t have huge movements in the rankings this week. Nothing happened in the top 10 where Djokovic is still at the very top followed by Murray, Ferrer, Nadal and Federer.
The first notable move was Fognini getting other 3 places to grab the 16th place (career high). The Italian has just lost to Robredo in the final (his 3rd back to back final) to tie Cilic in the 16 place (and possibly overtake him very soon as the Croat is allegedly serving a ban for doping).
Former world no. 5 Tommy Robredo had also a wonderful week to win the title in Umag and become now world no.23.
Youzhny won his 9th career title in Gstaad to become now world no.27. Still far from his career high (no. 8)… but he is getting there.
Regarding the other players, Gael Monfils keeps his quest to get back to a higher ranking. The semifinal in Umag allowed him to get 7 positions to be ranked world no. 49.
