Perfect Djokovic dismantles Gasquet in the Montreal quarters

Dancing Djokovic seems to be unbeatable in Montreal.

The world no.1 had to face an always dangerous Richard Gasquet to concede only 3 games to the Frenchman. The statistics were pretty telling. Djokovic fired 11 aces (on 8 service games), he won 8 out of 9 points on his second serve to score a total 56 points vs. Gasquet’s 29.  You can’t get better than that especially against the world no. 9 Match Stats.

Djokovic now leads Gasquet 8-1 in head to head matches.

Nole: I have done really well

A happy Djokovic commented “As close to perfection as you can be. In every part of my game I did almost my best. From the start of the match I tried to dictate the play on the court and be in control of the rallies. I’ve done really well. Of course, serve was very efficient, very high percentage of first serves, a lot of aces, a lot of free points. That’s something that obviously gives you confidence.”

The semis against Rafa

Nole will play Nadal in the semifinal. Head to head is 20-15 for Rafa, but Nole leads 9-3 on hard courts where he has the upper hand. Details.
