Genie Bouchard has had a below-par season in 2020. While the coronavirus pandemic has affected the tennis calendar this year, the former world number five is currently ranked as the 141st player in the WTA rankings. Despite the disappointing year she has had, Bouchard is still one of the most recognizable players in the game, and she recently took to Instagram to reveal her plans to bounce back in 2021.
Bouchard has been posting pictures of her offseason activities on Instagram
Genie shared a beautiful picture of herself and told her followers that she had already begun her offseason. The Canadian tennis star has been spending time with her friends in Las Vegas. However, she has also posted videos of her rehab and practice routines as she rehabs from an abdominal injury she suffered at the ITF 40A tournament last month. Bouchard’s had her best performance of the year at the Istanbul Open where she reached the final but lost to Patricia Maria Țig. The 26-year-old has only won one singles title in her career, and she is yet to replicate the 2014 form which saw her become the first Canadian tennis player to reach a Grand Slam final.

Genie is allegedly dating Pittsburg Steelers’ quarterback, Mason Rudolph
Even though Bouchard lost the Wimbledon final to Petra Kvitova, she proved to be an inspiration to many players in her country, including Bianca Andreescu. The 20-year-old became the first Canadian player to win a major title following her victory at the US Open last year. Now that the current world No.140 is on vacation, fans will be looking to see whether she spends time with her rumored boyfriend. According to TMZ, the 26-year-old has been dating Pittsburg Steelers quarterback, Mason Rudolph. The two are allegedly serious about their relationship, and Bouchard fueled the dating rumors when she attended a Steelers’ game last month.
While Genie is yet to officially confirm her romantic interest in Rudolph, the two often comment on each other’s pictures on Instagram. The Canadian tennis player had an interesting interaction with tennis fans back in March when she joked that she wouldn’t mind having a partner during the coronavirus imposed lockdown. Many fans sent “date applications” to Bouchard’s agent, and she later took to social media to ask fans to stop sending her the funny emails. The 26-year-old has over 2 million followers on Instagram, and tennis spectators can follow her page to find out whether she will confirm her relationship rumors. After a difficult 2020 season, she will be hoping to bounce back in 2021, and she could be a dark horse to win the Australian Open next year. For now, the 2014 Wimbledon finalist is focused on enjoying her offseason.
