Djokovic ends Nadal’s supremacy in Monte Carlo

A super Djokovic plays an incredible match to beat Nadal in straight sets! The world no.1 couldn’t play any better to come out with an incredible performance. After almost 2 hours Rafa had to bow to the better player after 9 years!

From Nole

“I think anybody who saw my expression in the end saw that it was a very emotional win for the reasons living here and what I’ve been through in the last two weeks. It’s a very joyful moment for me,” said Nole.

“I wanted that trophy badly all my life, especially in the last six, seven years that I’ve been spending my time and living here between the tournaments in Monaco. This is a great confidence boost before the rest of the clay-court season.”

From Rafa

Rafa couldn’t get his 9th consecutive trophey in the Pricipality to comment “Today, he was better than me… He’s a fantastic player. If you are not at 100 per cent,  is very difficult to win against these kinds of players. His game is very complete. To win, I have to play my best and I have to bring him to the limit.”

Head to head

Now Rafa is 19-15 with Nole, but the Serb is catching up. This Roland Garros is going to be really interesting.
