Alexander Zverev has been hitting the headlines for all sorts of reasons this year. The German sensation started the season decently well after reaching the semifinal at the Australian Open, where it seemed he had no chances to get deep in the tournament.
Unfortunately, Zverev attracted a lot of attention for being rather reckless during the Coronavirus pandemic to break a pledge of auto-isolating after participating in the controversial Adria Tour. Instead, Sascha was caught on camera dancing at a party in the South of France.
When the tour resumed, Sascha crashed as early as in the 2nd round at the Western & Southern Open that was played in New York. However, he really impressed during the US Open, where he was inches from winning his first slam. Nevertheless, he failed to serve the final when he was 5-3 up in the decider.
Sascha hit the headlines for the wrong reason following his 4th round exit at the French Open at the hands of an inspired Jannik Sinner. The German stressed too much the fact that he was struggling with illness instead of acknowledging his young conqueror.
Later on, the former world no.3 impressed in Cologne to win 2 back to back titles in the German city.
Zverev’s ex-girlfriend Brenda Patea and the baby
Things started to go south again for Zverev after he won the second title in Cologne. He was accused by his ex-girlfriend Olya Sharypova of domestic violence. In addition, his latest (ex) girlfriend, Brenda Patea, announced that she is pregnant with his son.
In a statement, Zverev admitted the paternity while refusing the accusation of domestic violence.
“The last days were quite challenging for me. I will be a father at age 23. And I am very much looking forward to the child. Even though Brenda and I are no longer together, we have a good relationship and I will live up to my responsibility as a father.
Together we will take care of the little person that is about to grow. But I don’t want to say more in public about this private subject. I am sure that Brenda and I can manage it without the media involved.”
Brenda announced she was pregnant for 20 weeks by the end of October. This means that she is expected to have a baby in February.

Now the world no.7, Zverev has a 27-8 match record in 2020. The German is participating in Paris where he beat Miomir Kecmanovic 6-2 6-2, Adrian Mannarino 7-611 6-77 6-4, Stan Wawrinka 6-3 7-61 and Rafael Nadal 6-4 7-5.
Alexander Zverev will fight against Medvedev in the final. The head to head is 5-1 for Zverev.
Alexander clinched 2 titles in 2020 in Cologne and in Cologne. The German was the finalist at the U.S. Open.
