Stan Wawrinka is about to face Alexander Zverev in the quarters in Bercy. The Swiss ace has a rather grim 0-3 record against Sascha. However, Stan thinks that he can pull an upset. In the previous round, the German has won a rather grueling match against an in-form Adrian Mannarino while Stan upset Andrey Rublev in a relatively quick 3-setter.

Stan is having a rather difficult year like most of his colleagues because of the pandemic. He started the season decently well after reaching the semifinals in Doha and the quarters at the Australian Open where he lost to Zverev.
He decided to compete on clay in Europe after the tour was back to even play a couple of challengers in Prague.
Stan has impressed in Bercy and he has already declared that he is aiming at having a good end of his season to have a final career-push in the years to come.
Stan was very happy after beating Rublev. About his upcoming match against Zverev, he commented:
“It’s going to be a tough one, for sure. I lost to him in the Australian Open. Lost a few times to him already in the past. He’s a tough player for me to play, so it’s going to be interesting. I watched him a little bit tonight. He played also a long match. Hopefully I can deliver a great match tomorrow night.”
Our prediction is Zverev winning in straight sets.
