Bianca  Andreescu has been probably the biggest absentee on this weird season. The Canadian sensation hit the headlines multiple times in 2019 for winning Indian Wells and Toronto and especially after conquering the US Open beating Serena Williams in the final.

Unfortunately, Bianca has been battling with all sorts of injuries and after hurting her knee at the 2019 WTA Finals, she was out from the competitions for long. She was due to be back on the occasion of the Miami Open, but the Coronavirus slowed her comeback. Again, Bianca was due to play on the tour again when tennis was back, but a small injury halted her. Eventually, Bianca called it a season, and she decided to be back only in January.

During a recent interview with Tennis Majors, Bianca confirmed that she would be back on the occasion of the first slam of the year in 2021.

“I’m doing really well. The virus pushed me back. And some little personal things here and there. But right now I’m good. I’m perfectly healthy. I really wanted to take time to build everything in my life. And I think this time off helped me do that.”

It’s interesting to notice that according to the bookmakers, (Bet365) Bianca is the favorite no.4 to win the Australian Open after Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka and Asheigh Barty.
