Karolina Pliskova splits with her coach Daniel Vallverdu

Karolina Pliskova to rebuild her coaching team after announcing her separation from Daniel Vallverdu

Karolina Pliskova Training

Karolina Pliskova didn’t have the season she was hoping for at the beginning of the year. The former world no.1 started a partnership with Daniel Vallverdu at the end of last season after ending her coaching relationship with Conchita Martinez.

Eventually, Karolina started the season pretty well in Brisbane where she won the title, but that was it. Like her colleagues, the world no.6 had her season cut by the pandemic, but besides reaching the final in Rome, she didn’t shine at all at the slams. She lost in the 3rd round at the Australian Open before crashing out in the 2nd round in both the US Open and the Roland Garros.

Pliskova parting ways with Vallverdu

Karolina posted a heartfelt message on Twitter announcing her split with DAniel as follows:

“As you may already know, due to the reduced number of WTA tournaments by the end of the year, the tournament in Ostrava was my last in the season. Since next week, we’re starting preparation for the upcoming season.

Unfortunately, due to time commitments, my coach Daniel Vallverdü and I have mutually agreed to no longer work together. I would like to thank Dani for the work and time we’ve spent together. It was nice meeting you and your family, and I wish you only the best in your further career!”
