Naomi Osaka had a rather interesting year that culminated with her US Open title back in September. The world no.3 inspired tennis fans and beyond during her fantastic run in New York. During the Western & Southern Open, she refused to play the semifinal in protest of the shootings of Jacob Blake. Naomi’s action prompted the ATP and WTA organizations to postpone the semifinals of 1 day. During the following 2 weeks, on the occasion of the US Open, the Japanese sensation took the court during her 7 matches with 7 different masks carrying the names of victims of racism.
Naomi looked flattered when she commented on a post from the Twitter account of the Billie Jean King Cup (the former Fed Cup) that showed 2 young fans dressed-up like Naomi for Halloween.
