Jannik Sinner and Andrey Rublev are going to clash in a finger-licking 2nd round in Vienna in a match that was curiously scheduled to be played on the secondary court.
During a video that was aired in July, Daniil Medvedev revealed a funny episode. Apparently, Andrey is often confused for Jannik because of the similar hair and he really doesn’t like it. Rublev’s dear friend Daniil Medvedev uncovered that his fellow Russian was upset when he was confused with the Italian in Melbourne on the occasion of the Australian Open. Therefore Daniil made the following joke:
“During the US Open, when I said to him ‘hey, Jannik! how are you?’, he got angry and went away, then came back 10 minutes later, and said ‘you’re Davydenk!”
Medvedev: Andrey always gets angry when he is called Jannik, because he looks like Sinner a bit (because of hair!). During USO, when I said to him "hey, Jannik! how are you?", he got angry and went away, then came back 10 minutes later, and said "you're Davydenko!!" 🤣.@atptour pic.twitter.com/6hMDKuAlyF
