Murray reaches the final in Miami to be a step away from world no.2

This is a great moment for Murray as he is just one a step away to win the title in Miami and to become the world no.2

The semifinal

The semis against Gasquet wasn’t easy. The Frenchman is playing the best tennis of his career to be a huge threat for the Scott. Richard won the first set at the tiebreak after both players exchange a couple of breaks . Then… game over. The Frenchman started to implode and Andy’s tennis was becoming better and better especially in terms of consistency.

Eventually the Scott won the last 2 sets 6-1 6-2 and the match ended after 2 hours.

From Andy

“The first set was a tough one to lose, because I obviously served for the set. Then at the end of the set, you look up at the stats and I had hit over 20 winners and lost the set,” said Murray. “So I realized I had to cut out the unforced errors. I did a good job of that. Halfway through the second set, I started to find the right way to play and the right shots to go for. I did well after that.”

The final vs. Ferrer

Head to head is 6-5 for Murray, 4-0 on hard courts. Andy has a huge respect for Ferrer to comment

“Ferrer has a great attitude on the court. He fights for every single point. He’s not struggling to play well in the big events. So that’s why he’s there, and it’ll be a very tough match on Sunday.”
