Cori Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka are going to face off in what is probably going to be the blockbuster match of the day in Ostrava. The American sensation had to find her way to the main draw going through the qualifications. Nevertheless, she got to the 2nd round in the Czech Republic without dropping a single set.
However, the teenager will have a tough task ahead as she will face Aryna Sabalenka for a place in the quarters.
Coco’s strategy to win the match
Soon after she defeated the home favorite Katerina Siniakova in the 1st round, Coco explained what she is going to do to try to beat Aryna.
“She swings big and she has a great serve, and hits the ball big. So I know I have to, when I get my opportunities, to just step in there and take them. I want to go out there and have fun and just see what I can do.”
Cori Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka played each other once. The head to head is 1-0 for Gauff. When they played, Cori Gauff won 7-64 4-6 6-4 in the 2nd round in Lexington (The Top Seed Open) on the 12th of August 2020.
