Cycling Serena beats the traffic and Morita to reach the 4th round in Miami.

It’s a great Serena! The world no.1 had to cope with a big problem before her match: a crazy traffic. Serena found a quirky way to solve the problem… the bicycle!

Serena borrowed a bike at her hotel to ride to her 2nd match of the tournament… in style!

From Serena

“The traffic was crazy and everyone was like, `I have been here for an hour, and I’m staying like eight minutes away,'” Serena said. “I’m like, `OK, I’m not going to make my match.’

“So I asked for a golf cart, and the hotel didn’t have a golf cart. Then they were like, `We have a motor bike.’ I’m like, `I don’t do motor bikes.’ They said, `We have a bicycle.’ I said, `I really don’t do bicycles, but I will today.'”

“It was fun,” she said. “It was probably one of my best memories I think ever, riding a bike to a match. That’s pretty cool.”

Finally Serena beat Morita 6-3 6-3 in 75 minutes. Actually that wasn’t as straightforward as Serena had to cope also with the slow start to find herself 0-3 down in the first set. Then… Serena was back.

Next vs Cibulkova

In the next round Serena will play Cibulkova in the 4th round. Head to head is 1-0 for Serena.
