Last year, when she was 19, Bianca Andreescu impressed after winning the US Open following the prestigious titles in Indian Wells and at the Rogers Cup. This year, it was time for 19-year-old Iga Swiatek to win the French Open in style without dropping a single set.
The tennis world is also waiting for the blossoming of 19-year-old Amanda Anisimova that last year reached the semifinal at the Roland Garros. According to many, 16-year-old is almost a done deal as the youngster has already reached the second week in both Wimbledon 2019 and at the Australian Open earlier this year. The Canadian contingent can now rely on the upcoming 18-year-old Leylah Annie Fernandezthat has recently reached the 3rd round at the French Open after losing with honor to an in-form Petra Kvitova.

At the moment ranked no.17 (career-high), the Pole gained 37 places after winning the Roland Garros to finally break in the top20. More to come.

Amanda Anisimova in 2020
Ranked no.30, the American has been struggling for some time to finally break in the top20. She played her last match on the 2nd of October when she capitulated to Simona Halep 6-0 6-1 in the 3rd round of the French Open.
Amanda Anisimova’s most significant performance of the year was reaching the semi-finals in Auckland.
Iga Swiatek and Amanda Anisimova have never played each other.
Cori Gauff in 2020
Currently the world no.55, Cori played her last match on the 30th of September when she was defeated by Martina Trevisan 4-6 6-2 7-5 in the 2nd round of the French Open.
Cori Gauff’s best accomplishment of the present year was getting to the semi-finals in Lexington.
Leylah Annie Fernandez in 2020
At the moment ranked no.89 (career-high), Fernandez played her last match on the 3rd of October when she lost to Petra Kvitova 7-5 6-3 in the 3rd round of the French Open.
Leylah Annie Fernandez’s best achievement of this season was reaching the final in Acapulco.
