Stefanos Tsitsipas, Jannik Sinner, Diego Sebastian Schwartzman are the big winners in the rankings after the Roland Garros.

After a rather interesting edition of the Roland Garros that saw Rafael Nadal winning his 13th title, there are some interesting movements in the rankings especially with Stefanos Tsitsipas, Jannik Sinner, Diego Sebastian Schwartzman. Rafa stayed no.2.

Now the world no.5 (career-high), Stefanos gained 1 place in the rankings after Paris. He played his last match on the 9th of October when he lost to Novak Djokovic 6-3 6-2 5-7 4-6 6-1 in the semifinal of the French Open.

Stefanos had the chance to beat Novak so as to get closer to Roger Federer that is no.4, but that didn’t happen as an injury halted t’ comeback against Djokovicn injury.

This year Tsitsipas has a 25-10 win-loss record. The Greek conquered 1 title in Marseille. Tsitsipas got to the final in Dubai and in Hamburg.

Jannik is probably the player that has impressed the most against the great Rafael Nadal. The Italian had the chance to serve for the 1st set and he was leading 3-1 in the second.
Nevertheless, after his fantastic French Open, Jannik gains 29 places in the rankings to finally break in the top50. However, the impression is that he is already playing like a top20 player (at least).

Diego Sebastian Schwartzman’s best result of the present year was reaching the final in Cordoba and Rome.

The Spanish sensation didn’t advance in the rankings as he was the defending champion in Paris. Still, he might not be very interested anymore in becoming the new world no.1

Currently, this season the Spaniard has a 22-4 win-loss record. Nadal conquered 2 titles in 2020 in Acapulco and at the French Open.

Diego Sebastian Schwartzman and Rafael Nadal played each other 11 times. The head to head is 10-1 for Nadal. The last time that they squared off, Rafael Nadal won 6-3 6-3 7-60 in the semifinal in Paris (French Open) on the 9th of October 2020.
