Novak Djokovic is yet in another slam final after he beat Stefanos Tsitsipas following a tough 5-setter. The Serbian legend had the opportunity to win the match in straight set, but the Greek sensation found the way to save a match point in the 3rd set to capitulate only in the decider.
Novak Djokovic’s wife Jelena vs the face mask
Everything went well for the world no.1, even if he wished he would have closed the affair in 3 sets. However, things got a bit controversial as Novak’s lovely wife Jelena was caught not wearing the face mask properly during the match. The rule of the Roland Garros is that everyone should wear properly a face mask covering their mouth and nose. Players might be fined if the members of their team do not follow the rules.

Almost every at Roland Garros is wearing a mask (and properly over the nose and mouth). Why can’t Djokovic’s wife and physiology trainer do the same? They should be fined and evicted from the stadium. #RolandGarros @DjokerNole pic.twitter.com/x81JLwbBth

Too harsh vs. Jelena and Djokovic’s team?
Jelena was harshly criticized on Twitter for not covering her nose. However, to be practical, having the nose out of from the face mask in such a contained environment (the players’ box) doesn’t put anyone in danger. Also, usually the team members are used to hang out together and therefore the transmission of the virus would have happened in other places. The criticism may probably come from the fact that since the team members are aware that they will be on TV, they should give the proper example.
Jelena had the right answer on Twitter stating that the guy that didn’t have the mask had an exemption while she was obviously stressed by the match. In addition all people i the box tested positive.
That one “guy” has exemption from doctors. Not everything is Covid related. I on the other hand, have less official reason- stress related breathing issues when watching my husband play. Ppl surrounding us are all tested and negative. https://t.co/W32OsHTHHF

Djokovic and the Coronavirus controversy
Unfortunately, Novak is not having a “great relationship” with the virus. He was heavily criticized for hosting the Adria Tour during the last summer that had to be halted as some players and members of the team were found positive. During the Adria Tour, there was practically no social distancing. Later, Novak and Jelena tested positive to Covid-19, but fortunately, there were no consequences for them.
