Nadal wins an incredible title in Indian Wells

Is it going to be Nole, Andy or Roger to win the 2013 Indian Wells title? Forget it… It’s Rafa!

The Spanish Legend came to Indian Wells just to “try his knee” on the hard court… and… it was a nice try!

Rafa had an absolutely astonishing tournament to defeat a super inspired Gulbis, King Roger, Berdych in the semis and a very strong Del Potro in the final.

It took 2 hours and 29 minutes for Rafa to win his 22nd 1000 ATP Master (another record) after rallying from 1 set down.

Juan Martin played a very good game especially in the first set when he was dictating the rythm with his powerful forehand.  Then Rafa found his way back in the match to win the second and third set puttign up a fierce fight.

From Rafa

“A lot of things happened the last seven months,  to be back here and to have this very heavy trophy with me is amazing,” said Nadal. “Beating three Top 10 players and winning a title like this is just something unbelievable for me. I’m very, very happy and very emotional.”

From Delpo

“I think Rafa deserved to win,” said Juan Martin . “The last hour of the match, he played so solid and put me so far from the baseline and made winners. But I think I had a good tournament anyway, and Rafa played really well today in the second and third sets. He broke me early in the third. Playing against him when the score is down is tougher. I was fighting all the time but he won in the end.”

Great stuff… and welcome back!
