Zverev Congratulated Sinner For His Win

Alexander Zverev is one of the most interesting upcoming players, but sometimes he doesn’t come out as a great loser. In 2018, he refused to give credits to Stefanos Tsitsipas after he lost to the Greek in the quarters of the Rogers Cup. Sascha fell short again during this edition of the French Open after losing in the 4th round to Jannik Sinner. The Italian teenager outplayed the German and soon after the match, Sascha declared that he was so sick that he should have played.

The controversy

Sascha’s revelation was extremely controversial on many levels. First, it seemed as he tried to diminish the importance of Sinner’s effort. In reality, the German didn’t play his worst tennis and therefore, it was pretty clear that Jannik was just better than him. Furthermore, it sounded weird that a player was allowed to compete while having the flu (Zverev said 38 degrees) and without any control from the tournament.

Eventually, Zverev got a couple of tests whose results were negative. Sascha showed the results on Instagram to also congratulate Jannik for his effort.
