Korda’s family: father, mother, sister
Sebastian was born on July 5, 2000,Bradenton (Florida, U.S.) to Petr Korda and Regina Rajchrtová. He has 2 older sisters named Jessica and Nelly. His family is highly talented in sports. His father Petr is an extremely well-known tennis player that was no.2 in the world in 1998 and he won the Australian Open in the same year. Petr also reached the Roland Garros final in 1992. Sebastian’s mother was also a professional player that had a world no. 26 high rank. She reached the 4th round at the US Open in both 1989 and 1991.
Sebastian’s sisters are both professional golf players. Nelly is world number 2 while Jessica is ranked 22.
His father is his coach
Even if his father Petr Korda is Sebastian’s coach, he has recently revealed that it was his mother to be probably his biggest influencer in tennis. He recently disclosed:
“When I switched over to tennis from hockey, my dad was traveling with my sister because she just made it onto – I think she was in her last year of juniors or first year of professional. My dad was traveling with her, caddying for her.
I was playing tennis with my mom. She’s probably one of the biggest influences that I have. The way my strokes are and everything is because she’s the one that kind of tuned it that way.
Yeah, no, we spent a lot of time on court together when I was a kid. Probably more than with my dad.”

Currently ranked no.213, the American has a 15-8 win-loss record in 2020. Sebastian is currently competing at the French Open where he beat Mitchell Krueger 6-1 6-4, Brayden Schnur 6-4 6-4, Aslan Karatsev 7-5 6-2, Andreas Seppi 6-2 4-6 6-3 6-3, John Isner 6-4 6-4 2-6 6-4 and Pedro Martinez Portero 6-4 6-3 6-1.
Sebastian Korda will come up against Nadal in the 4th round. They have never competed against each other till now on the main tour.
