Stefanos Tsitsipas is definitely one of the most interesting players on tour and he has already conquered 5 titles. However, with the very notable exception of the recent ATP Finals, all the titles conquered were ATP250 events. Curiously, Stefanos has a rather bad record when playing the finals of top events.
Stefanos lost 2 ATP1000 finals in Toronto 2018 to Rafael Nadal and Madrid 2019 to Novak Djokovic.
Tsitsipas’ record in the ATP500 finals
Stefanos has a rather bad 0-5 record also in the ATP500 finals. He is now the tennis player that has accumulated more defeats than anyone else in the finals in this category without managing to win any of them.
Stefanos lost the ATP500 finals in Barcelona 2018 (defeated by Nadal), Dubai (Federer) and Beijing (Thiem) in 2019. This year he lost the ATP500 finals in Dubai (Djokovic) and now in Hamburg (Rublev).
The Greek sensation was very close to getting away from this “special” log in the recent final in Hamburg when he was leading Andrey Rublev 5-3 in the decider of the final, but eventually he ended up also losing that match.
