Serena Williams’ coach Mouratoglou renounces partnering with top media to follow Serena and other projects

Patrick Mouratoglou will focus more and more on Serena Williams and other projects

Serena Williams Coach Patrick Mouratoglou

Patrick Mouratoglou is well-known for being the coach of the great Serena Williams. However, Patrick also owns a rather successful Academy in the south of France where some top players such as Stefanos Tsitsipas and Coco Gauff are used to train. Patrick is also a rather appreciated commentator for top broadcasts, but eventually he decided to take a break from consulting these broadcasts and focus more and more on his project and mainly help Serena to win her elusive 24th slam.

The Frenchman posted the following message on social media:

“I love working in the media, but for a little while, I have decided to devote all of my energy to Serena first and then to the various projects I have with my academy. That’s why I have been and will continue slowing down on TV consulting.

Thank you @espn@eurosport and @foxsportsasia for your trust these last 10+ years. I’m excited for future projects.

I’m already looking forward to being back.”

Patrick Mouratoglou and Serena Williams

Patrick started to coach Serena since 2012 soon after she lost in the 1st round of the Roland Garro to Virgine Razzano and they won 10 slams together. Patrick and Serena also are rumored to have been an item for some time. However, now the American icon is happily married to Alexis Ohanian. Mouratouglou has always been extremely focussed in helping Serena to achieve her goals.

Will Mouratoglou coach Tsitsipas?

Stefanos Tsitsipas has been training for a long time at the Patrick Mouratoglou Tennis Academy. The Frenchman helps Stefanos occasionally and there are signs that he could take the job as Tsitsipas’ head coach as the relationship “father-coach” between Stefanos and his dad is not working too well as of now.
