Novak Djokovic is relentless in his quest to create a proper association with the other professional tennis players. Just before the start of the US Open, he managed to have o board as many as 150 ATP players and now the Serbian champion maintains that he has already signed 200 WTA players.

Djokovic sounded positive about “his” Professional Tennis Players Association to reveal:

“The players association is going forward. I think it’s very important for us players to have 100 percent player representation, and I feel we can actually be a positive addition to ATP and work together, because this is what we want.”

Novak was also happy for being able to add a consistent amount of players from the female side to add:

“We have, as I said again, we are not just men’s players association. We want women to be involved. There are around 200 WTA players that signed.”

About talking with Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer released a rather straightforward statement on their disagreement about forming a new players’ association especially during these tough moments. Novak admitted that he had no chances yet to talk with the King of Clay about this thorny issue to say:

“Maybe there will be time for that next week before Roland Garros when we don’t have matches for maybe three, four days, maybe that would be a chance to do it.”
