ATP RANKINGS. Berrettini, Fognini, Sonego, Sinner the top Italians

Matteo Berrettini, Fabio Fognini, Lorenzo Sonego and Jannik Sinner are still the top4 Italian players in the ATP rankings.

Matteo Berrettini’s rankings

Currently the world no.8 (career-high), Matteo hasn’t gained or lost any position afterNew York. He played his last match on the 7^th of September when he surrendered to Andrey Rublev 4-6 6-3 6-3 6-3 in the 4^th round of the U.S. Open.

Fabio Fognini’s rankings

Currently ranked no.13, Fabio lost 1 place in the rankings. The Italian ace was out of the competitions for long not only because of the Coronavirus pandemic but also because he had an operation this ankles. He played his last match on the 10^th of September when he surrendered to Marc-Andrea Huesler 6-1 6-2 in the 2^nd round in Kitzbuhel.

Matteo Berrettini and Fabio Fognini played each other once. The head to head is 1-0 for Fognini. When they played, Fabio Fognini won 6-1 6-3 in the 1^st round in Rome (Internazionali BNL d’Italia) in May 2017.

Lorenzo Sonego’s rankings

At the moment ranked no.81, Sinner lost 7 places in the rankings. He has not been enjoying a particularly good moment. He lost in the 1st round in both the Western & Southern Open and the US Open. Last week he crashed out in the ed round in Kitzbuhel. He played his last match on the 10^th of September when he lost to Laslo Djere 6-4 6-4 in the 2^nd round in Kitzbuhel.

Lorenzo Sonego and Jannik Sinner have never played each other.
