Djokovic shares a lovely message about Thiem and Zverev’s friendship

Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev played an incredibly intense final at the US Open with the Austrian champion winning an impossible match after he was 2 sets-down and Zverev was serving for the match in the decider.

Sascha Zverev was once again gracious in defeat with his Austrian friend to go and compliment him with a huge hug that even if it was against the common social distancing standards, it was great to watch.

The message of Novak Djokovic

Even if Novak Djokovic sometimes falls short with press conferences, he is always an extremely gracious loser on court. 

The world no.1 wrote the following message on Instagram celebrating the behavior of Sascha and Dominic:

“This is what sport is all about. Respect, appreciation and friendship. Regardless of the rivalry these two guys have and the amazing battle they had yesterday, they still showed big heart and inspired many tennis players.
