There is good news for the tennis fans as more and more tournaments are getting their way in this weird 2020 season.
After the Coronavirus pandemic wiped out a huge chunk of the season, organizations are getting more and more confident about holding events even if they are played without fans. The US Open has been hugely successful so far even if there were a couple of awkward moments due to the restrictions. This set a very good example for other tournaments and local municipalities.
According to rumors, it is more and more plausible that 4 ATP events and 1 WTA tournament will be added in October. This addition will help to fill the void left by the cancellation of the entire Asian swing.
Apparently there will be 2 tournaments back to back in Cologne on hard (12th and 19th of October), 1 tournament on the 19th of October in the beautiful Sardinia at the Forte Village in Santa Margherita di Pula (on clay), and 1 tournament on hard courts in Nur Sultan (26th of October).
In addition, the WTA will add a Premier event in Ostrava (19th of October) as the Czech Republic proved to be extremely receptive to organizing tennis events.
That’s just great and needed.
