Tsonga and Berdych to fight in Marseille final

We had a couple of trashes in the Marseille semifinals as both matches lasted barely a hour.

Berdych

It took only 54 minutes for Berdych to defeat world no. 119 Dmitry Tursunov 6-2 6-1. The difference between the two was huge as Tomas won 57 points vs. Tursunov’s 32. The Czech balsted 9 aces on 8 service games to lose only 2 points on his first serve.

“I wanted to step on the court and be strong, because you never know what could happen with him,” said Berdych.

“I was focused from the very first point… Finally, I’m able to play well here. I came here many times but I didn’t do well. I still have one more to go, so I want to finish in the best possible way.”

Tsonga

Easy stuff for Jo as he conceded only 4 games to his compatriot Gilles Simon in a 63 minutes match. Tsonga blasted 7 aces on 8 service games to not concede a single break.

Head to head

Head to head is 5-2 for Berdych that has won the last 3 matches in 2012.
