DEATH THREATS. Novak Djokovic defends the lines woman vs he attacks of his fans

Djokovic And The Lines Judge Hit By The Ball

Novak Djokovic had a rather unfortunate run at the US Open. With the absence of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, the Serbian champion was widely considered as the overwhelmed favorite to win this edition of the American slam. However, Novak was defaulted after unintentionally hitting a lineswoman, Laura Clark, at the throat.

The lineswoman was harassed by some Djokovic’s “fans” that were accusing her of dramatizing the accident so as to provoke the defaulting of their tennis hero. Unfortunately, things escalated on social media with some “fans” threatened her with some harsh sentences.

Many of Clark’s posts have been slammed with horrible messages, calling her “sick” and an “alcoholic”.

These are some examples

“I hope you rot in hell for this. Hell hath no fury like Djokovic’s fans scorned. But no matter, you can be assured that one day karma will come for you. You were the reason the US Open disqualified the best tennis player. Novak, I hope you realise she was faking the injury all along.”

Laura’s son tragically died on a bicycle when he was 25 and a troll wrote the following horrible message.

“Don’t worry, you’ll join him soon.”

Novak had to step in on social media trying to calm down his fans to comment:

“Dear #NoleFam thank you for your positive messages.. Please also remember the linesperson that was hit by the ball last night needs our community’s support too. She’s done nothing wrong at all. I ask you to stay especially supportive and caring to her during this time. From these moments, we grow stronger and we rise above. Sharing love with everyone. Europe here I come”
