Why Frances Tiafoe likes Naomi Osaka

Why Frances Tiafoe is so happy with Naomi Osaka's stance against racism

Naomi Osaka And Frances Tiafoe

Frances Tiafoe and Naomi Osaka are both very well involved in support of the black community, especially after the horrible facts that have been happening recently in the US.

Naomi Osaka has been extremely vocal when supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. Last week she refused to play the semifinal of the Western & Southern Open on Thursday to protest against the shooting of Jacob Blake. Then Naomi decided to play the US Open, going on court with face masks carrying the names of the victims of racism in the US. Naomi also stressed that it is very sad that the 7 masks that she has prepared for every match that she hopes to play at the US Open are definitely not enough as there are many more victims of racist behaviors.

Frances Tiafoe on Naomi

Frances Tiafoe was particularly taken by Naomi’s involvement to say:

“You had a whole movement, you had bleacher report, everything, going crazy that she didn’t play Cincinnati. That’s special. I bet a lot of people weren’t for that, but she believed in something. She’s coming out with a different mask every night. She’s trending.
She definitely figured out. She’s definitely woke.”
