Benoit Paire is unfortunately the first player that tested positive to the Coronavirus. The entertaining Frenchman didn’t look at all at his best when he was playing the first round of the Western & Southern Open to withdraw when he was 0-6 0-1 down against Borna Coric.
Eventually, Paire was found positive to the Coronavirus and now the organization is trying to understand who was in close contact with him. According to the French outlet L’Equipe Richard Gasquet, Adrian Mannarino, Eduard Roger-Vasellin and Gregoire Barrere have to stay at the hotel for precaution and it’s not clear if they are going to be allowed to compete in the US Open
It’s interesting to notice that Benoit has been in New York for at least 12 days and he has always tested negative until yesterday.
In the meantime, we wish the best for everyone involved.
