Tsitsipas explains why he probably made history in New York. Raonic next

Stefanos Tsitsipas is stunned by the players that he had to defeat in the Western & Southern Open

Stefanos Tsitsipas

Stefanos Tsitsipas is having a rather unique run in a rather unique tournament at the Western & Southern Open. The Greek sensation has played back to back with 3 giants after beating Kevin Anderson (2.03 m, 6′ 8″), John Isner (2.08 m, 6′ 10″), and Reilly Opelka (2.10 m, 6′ 11″). Interestingly enough, Stefanos will face Milos Raonic in the semifinal that is tall “only” 1.96 m or 6′ 5″.

During the press conference that followed Stefanos’ match against Opelka, the Greek commented:

“That is quite crazy. I have played three players that are taller than seven feet in less than four days. So it is turning into a very interesting week so far. Am I going to make it to the record books for playing the tallest players on the ATP consecutive, one after the other? I have to check it out. I don’t think it has ever happened before.”
