Confident Tsitsipas explains how he defeated Isner. Opelka nexy in New York

Stefanos Tsitsipas feels that he is more and more comfortable to play against big servers. Opelka will be an interesting test

Stefanos Tsitsipas

Western & Southern Open. Stefanos Tsitsipas had a rather composed performance against big-server John Isner to win the match in straight sets after clinching a couple of tiebreaks. It seems that Stefanos has found the way to deal with the so-called “server-bots” after he got completely overpowered by Milos Raonic during the last Australian Open. After losing in straight sets to the Canadian, Tsitsipas admitted that he really didn’t know what to do in order to cope with Raonic’s huge serve.

Things got different in New York after Stefanos beat Kevin Anderson and John Isner in straight sets.

Tsitsipas about playing big-server Isner

After the match against the American, Stefanos commented:

“I did feel very comfortable, didn’t feel any nerves. Even when it came to the tie-breaks. I felt very comfortable and decisive with the tactics I wanted to follow. Overall it was a great performance and I think I can still improve a few things in tomorrow’s match. Not putting any pressure on me, but I think I can be even more aggressive and play with higher percentages.”
