Andy Murray has started in great fashion his 2020 with a rather good win over Frances Tiafoe after beating the American player in 3 sets. The Brit decided to get back to competitions in New York after a very long hiatus as he was still recovering from his hip injury and operation during the first part of the 2020.
Andy not staying in a private house
Like many other players, Andy didn’t know what to expect from this US stint and he stayed in a private house at the very beginning. However, given the huge costs and the good organization of the event, he decided to try to stay in the hotel like the other players and he sounds very happy with his decision.
“It’s just the costs were astronomical, so I went for the bubble. It’s nice. They’ve done a really good job at the hotel. They’ve got games and arcades and things like that, which I enjoy. Still a bit of a child in that respect. They’ve got that. They’re putting on, like, different food in the evenings for the players. We can get a delivery. Room is absolutely fine. You have a gym there. So, yeah, it’s absolutely fine.
But I had considered staying in a house. I’m happy with the hotel. Just a little bit of a drive each day to get into the courts.”
Andy’s choice was completely different than Serena Williams’s as the American champion decided to stay in a private house also because she has a lung condition and she couldn’t take any risk.
