We are having a very nice tournament in Montpellier where 3 spectacular players such as Paire, Llodra and Gasquet reached the last four for the delight of the home crowd.
1st Semifinal -> Nieminem – Gasquet
Gasquet will face Nieminem. Richard defeated two friends and fellow countrymen in the first 2 rounds in 3 sets. In his opener he beat Monfils 6-3 2-6 6-3 and then in the quarters he won over Benneteau 6-1 4-6 6-1.
Unseeded Nieminem came from nowhere to defeat qualifier Serra in the first round 6-3 6-2, then seed no5. Davydenko 6-3 7-6 (8) and Stakhovsky in the quarters 4-6 6-3 7-6 (2).
Head to head is 5-2 for Gasquet, but Nieminem won their only encounter in Montepellier (2010) 4-6 7-6(6) 6-2.
2nd Semifinal -> Paire – Llodra
This is going to be great fun as these two are definitely among the most entertaining players on tour.
Llodra got to the semis by defeating lucky loser De Schepper 6-3 6-3, then he upset Tipsarevic 6-3 7-6(4) to win the quarters against Hajek 7-6 (3) 6-1. Michael is playing a very good tennis and his performance in he quarters was just sublime.
Paire defeated qualifier Menendez-Maceras 6-0 6-2, then Steve Darcis 4-6 7-6(11) 6-4 to beat Simon in the quarters 7-5 7-6(4)
These two played only once in Bordeaux quarterfinal where Llodra won 6-3 7-5.
