Andy Murray, Frances Tiafoe, Daniel Evans and Andrey Rublev are going to face in the most interesting matches in the 1st round in New York in the men’s’ draw.
Andy Murray vs. Frances Tiafoe
Andy Murray
Even if Murray has been out from the official competitions for long, he looked in decent form during some recent exhibitions played in the UK. It is still a long way to go for him, but his fitness seems to be good and more importantly, he is not limping anymore.
Now the world no.129, Andy played his last match on the 20th of November 2019 when he beat Tallon Griekspoor 6-77 6-4 7-65 in the Rubber 1 of the Davis Cup.
Frances Tiafoe
Unfortunately, Frances was found positive to the Coronavirus a few weeks ago in Atlanta. However, the good news is that he had only mild symptoms. Still, it will be interesting to see his fitness level after being in isolation.
At the moment ranked no.81, Tiafoe played his last match on the 5th of March when he was overcome by Gregoire Barrere 4-6 6-2 7-64 in the 3rd round of the Indian Wells Challenger.
Andy and Frances have never played each other until now. Probably the favorite is the American just because Andy has not been played a match on tour since the end of 2019.
