Federer triumphs in Doha

Federer won in style the Qatar Open.

He did not drop one set in the tournament, he looks on top of his form and he now seems to be in pole position for the next Australian Open.
In the final the Swiss’ dominance was almost embarrassing, not only because he crashed Davydenko, but because the Russian was playing at his very best.. and Davydenko at his very best is usually unplayable.
The score was 6-3 6-4 and the statistics of the final were incredible.
The match lasted 79 minutes. Federer had 8 break points and he never conceded one to Davydenko.
The Swiss’ dominance was confirmed by the fact that he managed to win 69% of the points of Davydenko second serve.
The Qatar Open gave to the tennis world also a good news: the come back of Davydenko.
The Russian had a really great tennis and he looks set to a good season. He displayed also a very good fair play when during the interview he said (with a big smile) that he was very happy about his tournament and he looked not really worried by his defeat in the final. ‘Roger was unplayable’.
2011 will be another wonderful year for the tennis world.
