Amanda Anisimova was eager to finally get back to competitions in Lexington after a rather long Hiatus. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen on Tuesday as the American teenager was stopped by an injury to her shoulder.
Francesca Di Lorenzo eventually took Anisimova’s place in the draw as a lucky loser, but she lost in straight sets to Cici Bellis.

Now ranked no.28, Anisimova was supposed to play on the 26th of February. However, she conceded a walk over to Svetlana Kuznetsova in the 3rd round in Doha.
Amanda Anisimova’s most significant achievement of this year was getting to the semi-finals in Auckland.

Currently the world no.128, Di Lorenzo played her last match on the 11th of August when she was defeated by Catherine Cartan Bellis 6-1 6-2 in the 1st round in Lexington.
