Nikolay Davydenko may sometimes have problems at finding sponsors, he may have an erratic tennis, but when he is in top form he looks almost unstoppable.
The Russian had a very easy win with Rafael Nadal that was clearly struggling to cope with his own health.
The world nr.1 managed to have an early break in the opening game to get to a 2-1 lead. Than it was game over.
The Spaniard health was clearly not good and he was always a half step late. On the other side Davydenko was displaying an unbelievable tennis. He was hitting winners from every part of the court with an incredible accuracy. First set score was 6-3.
The second set proved to be a nightmare for the Spaniard whose serve was immediately broken. He looked exhausted and he called for a trainer when the score was 2-0 for the Russian. The only advice the trainer could give to Nadal was to drink more, but it was clear that Nadal did not have much chances.
Davydenko went 5-0 in the second set (a partial of 10-1 after he was down 1-2 in the first set).
Than Nadal tried to fight back and surprisingly managed to win the next 2 games. But there was no hope and the final score was 6-3 6-2.
Everybody was hoping for the dream final (Nadal vs. Federer), but Federer-Davydenko will be also very interesting especially if the Russian can keep this form.
