Novak Djokovic, Dominic Thiem, and Stefanos Tsitsipas are among the top favorites in the upcoming US Open. However, according to popular media outlet Marca, there are still doubts about their participation.
According to the Spanish website, there was a “secret meeting” with the top20 players in the world about the US Open and the main topic was that they wanted to be sure that they will not be quarantined when back to Europe after playing the US Open. This is a very important issue that was solved with the Spanish government when the Madrid Open was still on. However, the prestigious ATP1000 was canceled because of the rising of the cases of the Coronavirus in Spain and therefore the next big tournament in line would be the ATP1000 in Rome. According to Marca, the top20 players are not comfortable to travel to New York if this issue is not solved, a mass withdrawal may happen.

Furthermore, another point that has been discussed was the controversial rule that a player will be disqualified if a member of his or her team is found positive to the Coronavirus.
